Rainbow after the Storm

Severe Thunderstorm 7-8-2014

Once the tornado warnings were lifted we went out to survey the storm damage in the Elk Lake area on 7-8-14. We found many trees down in the area between Elk Lake and Auburn 4 corners in PA. We could see the back edge of the front and the sun shining in the west but there was still thunder and lightning to the south and east of us as we traveled State Route 3001 from South Montrose toward Elk Lake. We did see a tree uprooted that barely missed a house. We decided that it was still dangerous to be out when we saw several lightning bolts and turned back north. Just north of Elk Lake we saw a beautiful rainbow. Just after I snapped the picture, a lightning bolt could be seen where the rainbow was. We headed back indoors!
