Faith and Jack Fassett of Chenango Bridge held their first "lemonade sit" on Saturday(August 23). Jack called it sit because he had lawn chairs out so customers could sit and chat after purchasing their lemonade and a cupcake or brownie. They hosted the stand as a beginning to fundraising for the upcoming "Doggone Fun on the Run" that Southern Tier Aids Program sponsors(Sept 27,2008). The walk raises money for those with HIV/Aids who also have a pet that needs food, vet care, etc...When someone is sick often a choice must be made between meds or the pet food. This fundraiser eases that and allows someone who otherwise may have to get rid of their dog, and we all know the positive difference the companionship of a pet can make. The "sit" made $44. which was a great start to Faith doubling the $575. she raised last year, making her the top fundraiser.
"Humanities" on the Run!!!
