The ski season doesn't start for another two months but that didn't stop six skiers from spending Saturday, October 4 at a local ski area. They weren't skiing, they were mountain biking. The chairlift takes you and your bike to the top. Mountain bikers ride on a network of trails specially cut through the woods for mountain biking. Eventually they end up at the bottom of the mountain. Then ride the chairlift up and do it all over again.
The skiers are all members of the Triple Cities Ski Club in Binghamton. This is an annual event for the ski club in the fall to provide an experience similar to skiing for those itching to get out there.
The fall foliage was not peak but still vibrant with a lot of colors present. The weather was perfect for mountain biking and the clear skies provided spectacular views of the Catskill Mountains.
