We started a tradition when 13 yrs. ago when we had 6 grandchildren of painting a pumpkin for each child and putting them into the pumpkin patch. We were always informed as to the expected birth of a new grandchild when our children said "Gramma, you will need another pumpkin in the patch this year!" We now have 12 plus the Gramma & Papa pumpkins to watch over all the kids.
