Jackson Park - Binghamton, NY
The high flying Newark Valley Cardinals season came to an end today at the hands of a very sharp Susquehanna Valley Sabers team. The NV "Mighty Micro's", as they have come to be known locally, ran into what could only be called a finely honed and sharpened Sabers squad that exacted revenge for the loss that their older siblings suffered just last week at the hands of the 11&12 year old Card's team. The Sabers were dominant on both sides of the ball - running very effectively on offense, and frequently running right through the Card's offensive line while playing defense. The Card's were never allowed to get into any sort of rhythm and were frequently running the ball backwards while being pursued by Saber defenders.
The Sabers head to Montrose next week to play (unknown @present - maybe you news guys can find out?) for the Pee Wee version od the Super Bowl. Congrats to both the NV "Mighty Micro's" and the Sabers teams for having very good seasons!
