Meet Casper, our 46 year old umbrella cockatoo! Yes, 46 years old, in human years. A parrto's lifespan, depending on species, ranges from 15 to 80 or more years! Larger parrots live 60 to 80 years whereas cockatiels and sun conures range from 15 to 30 years. Another thing to consider before adotping a bird on impulse! Casper's wish this Christmas is that humans who are considering adopting a bird, do their research first. In this photo, Casper was squawking and doing his "Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy" dance. He is happy because he has found a forever home! Adopted from Feathered Kisses Bird Sanctuary in Kirkwood, NY, Casper came from NJ where his former owner was no longer able to keep him. Casper is happy, healthy and spoiled, as any parrot should be!
