A few weekends ago my girlfriend and I saw these two pileated woodpeakers come out of their nest and start drilling for bugs. Tthis is an experience that I'm not sure I will ever have again. Most of the time these woodpecker's are so elusive you are lucky to see one, let alone seeing two come out of their nest. And this is one of many reasons we feel state park should be free of snowmobiles. We have no problem with the snowmobilers enjoying the outdoors just not in this beutiful peace of property!
