At around 11:00am on Saturday, December 27, 2008, the Vestal Water Department was notified of a possible water main break. By 11:30am, Town of Vestal workers arrived to confirm the mini-disaster. What was initially estimated to be a 3 - 4 hour repair turned into a 12-hour ordeal for town workers with assistance from NYSEG and more equipment than originally anticipated.

Kudos to the town workers for coming out on the holiday weekend and to the Vestal Police who ensured no one was hurt and traffic flowed smoothly during the repair.
