Tyler

Our Christmas Miracle

Tyler is one of our beloved pet ducks and one that we rescued 2 years ago from an abusive home. During the first week of this month while counting our ducks, we discovered he was missing. We searched everywhere with no sign of him. Finally we decided that the Red-tailed Hawk that had been hanging around had taken him. On the 23rd, Bob was snowblowing a friends driveway out more than a half of a mile away and in a residental section when around the corner of the house came a black duck. It was Tlyer! Thin, scared and hungry, he let Bob pick him up and bring him home. We figured he recognized the sound of the tractor and came out of hiding. How he managed to survive for over 2 weeks without food, a good access to water and alone is a good question. Especially with the dogs that run loose in that area.

He is doing great now and glad to be home. Definitely a Christmas Miracle.
