Just a little one horse sleigh :)

.:.*Christmas Dream*.:.

I'm 22 years old and have been a part of the 4-H horse program for over 15 years and have been around horses since I was 7. I wasn't allowed to have my own horse and found myself riding everyone else's horses. When I was 11, my father finally gave in and told me I could start out with a miniature horse. "Start out small and work your way up." I got Spitsy from a local pumpkin farm when he was a year and a half old and he was in very bad shape: underweight, covered in lice and full of worms making his digestive system go haywire, and the saddest little horse I had ever seen. His owners decided that because he didn't create that image of the "perfect" miniature horse that they weren't going to bother trying to make him better and that they'd put him down if they didn't find a home for him. Needless to say, Silver Spitfire (Spitsy) became my Christmas gift when I was 11 years old. Because of the shape he was in when I brought him home, he has been prone to digestive issues and phemonia. He has gone through a lot of illness over the years but every time he has fought through. At 3 years old I broke Spitsy myself to pull a cart and he has been shown for years. I've never seen a horse so happy as he is hooked up to that little cart. He's got the greatest personality, a priceless fighter's attitude, and in a field full of full-size horses he IS the biggest one there. Despite Spitsy's rough start when no one thought he was good for anything, he has come to prove to everyone time and time again that he wants and deserves to be here just like everyone else. He has gone to Elementary schools, fairs, parades, shows, and parties and is always the center of attention. After having him for 11 years in December '08, not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for having this little guy in my life. Spitsy was my Christmas dream :)

I have a mini too and he is the sweetest! Spitsy goes to show that good things do come in small packages.
