Many trees flower before leafing, while others do it the other way around, but all of them flower. 1. Tamarack-belongs the larch family. These trees are the only conifers that lose their needles in winter. 2. Maple-has small red flowers in dense clusters. 3. Popple-in early spring the buds form drooping fuzzy tassels called catkins.
