Shortly after 6:00 Saturday morning my husband called up to me, where I was working on photos on the computer. He said to grab my camera if I wanted to see a hawks next. I snatched up my glasses, stuffed my feet into slippers and out the door we went. We went down the road about a mile. Across a hay field, next to a creek were several old pine trees. Aloft near the top was a large nest. Lo and behold perched on the rim of the nest were these two Red-Tail Hawks. I'm not sure if they are young birds. They didn't fly away. They just watched us as we watched them.
It's nice to see birds in the area that were rare to see when I was growing up.
