Channel: Local News

Location: Oneonta, NY

Jason Corrigan is a 21 year old man and student at SUNY Oneonta. On April 23, he launched his campaign for mayor of Oneonta, becoming the youngest person in the city's history to seek the position.

To date Corrigan has had several articles written about him in the Oneonta Daily Star, Hometown Oneonta, The Albany Times Union, and Utica's NBC affiliate WKTV.

Several internet blogs have popped up touting his community work and service as well as his campaign issues. He is without doubt a capable and serious young man who may join the ranks of six other mayors of small cities who are under the age of thirty.

Corrigan has two videos on youtube that have been getting hits in the hundreds. He is a worthy candidate and possible next mayor of Oneonta New York.

I think that Jason has a chance, at least I hope he does. Just imagine he picks you up for a date at your home and your father says, "so what do you do son", and he says,"I'm the Mayor of Oneonta". Now that's cool.... Give a local girl a chance ;)

Dick Miller is the only candidate for Oneonta. He rescued Hartwick from the brink and his business sense will boost our economy. He is a great guy - very friendly and down to earth. Corrrigan is arrogant and self invovled.

I'm curious. How does he plan to get a train into Oneonta? It's not like he can just go to the Amtrak head office and demand it. Isn't Amtrak itself kind of struggling, it's not exactly the time to build a new line that probably won't be profitable?
