We also had a very large black bear on Hillside Terrace in May, raiding bird feeders. We have had them up in this area in other years as well, at least a couple in the last 5-6 years.

I live on Robinson st. it was in my friends backyard. No one called the cops. It was a good thing my dog was inside. If not it would have blocked the bear and the bear would have attacked. Allkids who live on my street where inside when it came.

anyone ever think that it might be hurt? The poor thing was probably confused and tired. Just looking for a way out of the concrete jungle. And why was nothing done about getting back into the woods? Isn't that what animal control is for?

I hope it doesn't try to harm children or break into a house. It might be made into a nice rug for a fireplace. Bears in the wild are normally very timid and afraid of people. Add some garbage cans and rubberneckers, and you may have trouble.

I TOO SAW THE BEAR CROSSING THE STREET AT WILSON AVE, AND COUNTRY CLUB ROAD. IT WAS JUST WANDERING AROUND NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO ALL THE COMMOTION HE WAS CAUSING. QUITE A SURPRISE TO SEE A BEAR IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

He was probably just lost or foraging. I was most concerned that there was no public notice or anything, just state troopers and rubber-neckers looking for the bear. Witnesses said the bear appeared to be frightened and exhausted.

My children saw the bear too, they were in a vehicle with a neighbor, and they managed to snap photos from approximately 25 ft away. Another neighbor determined by the siding on the house he was photographed near, That He was @ least 6 ft tall.

Neighbor said he saw a bear near Groveland and Hoover Road in Endwell. If so, perhaps his/her residence is in the woods/swamps off Watson Blvd?

I saw this bear. I was sitting on my deck in the back of my house and it lumbered by me. It appeared to have an agenda because it didn't stop for anything. Fences and dogs barking did't phase it at all.
