Flood Main St.

Hard rain hits Guilford Again

We had about 4 inches of rain according to my rain gague. About 1 to 1:15 the fire was called out to hazardous conditions on two locations in guilford. One was at guilford center {35 & 36] which was minor. The other was at 35 & 38. This was caused by the heavy rain that plugged the catch basin with big rocks. Then it blew out and under mined the road. We had water from 38 to school st.. This flooded one cellar and did some other minor flooding. Trafic was detoured and moving by about 4:30.This happened during the flood of 6/2006 the first time. We had a problem at least once since then.
