I noticed this strange object growing in my front yard. when I went to investigate I thought it was a type of mushroom,however,at a closer look I thought it had nostrels?? Anyway when I went to pick it up it was hollow and after setting on my T.V. stand a few hours it began to turn black and shriveled. Any ideas as to what it is??

Too funny, my son and I came across this same object in our yard last summer. We discovered it too was hollow after we ran over it with the lawn mower. It did not grow back this year. Would too be curious as to what it was.
