Apalachin LIONS HONOR
The 2009 Peace Poster CONTEST WINNERS
Owego Middle School (OMS) student, Garrett Angular, Vestal Middle School (VMS) student, Kathryn Ting Zhu, along with their parents, were guests of the Apalachin Lions Club at the club’s October 28th meeting. The two students were winners of the 22nd Annual Peace Poster Contest (The Power of Peace) sponsored by the Apalachin Lions and Lions International. Over 150 students participated in the contest Garrett Angular, Kathryn Ting Zhu winning posters will now go on for judging at the Lions district level and if selected will be forwarded to Lions International for judging against entries from over 150 countries of the world wide Lions organization.
Lions event chair Terry White presented each of the winners with a $50 savings bond. And Lion First V-Pres. Robert Jensen expressed the Apalachin Lions appreciation to teachers Sue Anderson from OMS and Leigh Kaminsky from VMS for the time and effort they expended on this project.
