The Outdoor Classic was cold, traffic was uncontrolled, the seats were lousy, the Syracuse fans were rude and the Sens lost the game. Having a skydiver deliver the puck was cool, but doesn't make up for everything else.
How rude were the fans? If you watch a replay of the game, near the end of the second period, with the Sens on the power play and the puck in the Sens zone, you can see me in a white hockey sweater, standing on a platform near the rink, getting pelted by snowballs from the Syracuse fans who thought I was blocking their view. I had stopped for a quick look on my way back from the concession stand before making the long trek back up to my "Bob Uecker" seats 60 rows up and 200 feet betond the end of the rink. Most Binghamton fans got these lousy seats at the top of the grandstand, at least those who survived the hours long traffic jam and long walk to get to the rink.
