Johnson City – The Goodwill Theatre will present “Doktor Kaboom!” on Saturday, March 27 at 11am and 2pm, as part of the “Just 4 Fun!” Series sponsored by Visions Federal Credit Union. “Doktor Kaboom!” is an interactive science comedy for audiences of all ages.
“The show has a WOW! factor for the science buff and science skeptic alike,” says Goodwill Theatre Executive Director Naima Kradjian. “It will cure the winter blues and give you a giggle fit.”
The presentation blends theatre arts with the wonders of scientific exploration. The show provides an educational overview of the modern scientific method, and fills children with wonder and curiosity by demonstrating spectacular applications of the physical sciences.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens, students, and children. Reservations are encouraged. Reservations and information on all shows are available by calling the Goodwill Theatre Inc. offices at (607) 772-2404, ext. 1. Tickets, if still available, will be sold at the door one hour before show time.
The “Doktor” is played by David Epley, a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Epley has been developing, writing, and performing his original interactive comedy across the US and Canada, for over twenty years.
“Goodwill Theatre is thrilled to bring this up-and-coming, fun and funky artist to the Southern Tier,” Kradjian says. “We hope parents, grandparents and families come out to enjoy this crazy show. We hope teachers will come see it too.”
“We are very glad that VISIONS Credit Union is underwriting high-quality entertainment like Doktor Kaboom. It is so important to be able to offer professional, family-friendly shows at affordable prices,” Kradjian added.
Philip Wilson of New World Stages writes, “Doktor Kaboom’s familiarity with the audience, ability to improvise and engage the crowd sets the show apart from all other science shows that I’ve seen.”
