The Guilford Elementary School has bird feeders behind the building. Many animals besides birds often show up the feeders. This morning we were visited by this opossum. We suspect that it recently awoke from hibernation. It might be a female laden with young foraging for more food. We rarely see nocturnal animals during the mid-morning hours. This harbinger of spring was a special treat for students and staff.
