Strollers at Binghamton's First Friday encountered dinosaurs, but they were all smiling. The dino-sculptures, based on Johnny Hart's "Gronk" and "Moo" characters from the B.C. comicstrip, have been decorated by local artists, some in themes of their sponsoring businesses. Money raised from sponsorships and an auction will benefit local charities. Seen here are "HART Breaker," sponsored by Audio Classics and designed by Kelly Finan; "BC Rides Again," sponsored by Susan Jablon Mosaics, and designed by Maggie Martin; and "PhilHARTmonic," sponsored by the Binghamton Philharmonic with a grant from Assembywoman Donna Lupardo, and designed by Lynne Stanford. The dinos will hang out on downtown streets throughout the summer.
