(WBNG) -- Governor Kathy Hochul signed three bills Thursday continuing the trend of New York State having some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

The governor signs the Scott J. Beigel Act which indicates it’s a crime to sell unfinished frames of receivers where people can put together guns and evade the law.

She also signed the Jose Webster Untraceable Firearms Act that criminalizes the sale of ghost guns and a third law cracking down on toy guns.

“We have to deal with the criminals who are trying to cause har, to individuals,” Gov. Hochul said. “We’ll continue seeing criminals going to extreme lengths to possess illegal guns. We are finally putting a stop to that.”

The governor said criminals are not only getting more clever but technological advances are a large reason for the signing of the bills.
