Chenango Forks School District gets news Superintendant
(WBNG) -- The Chenango Forks Central School District has formalized the appointment of a new superintendent.
The district’s Board of Education announced Thomas Burkhardt will serve as the district’s superintendent of schools to replace former Superintendent Lloyd Peck. Grayson Stevens served as the district’s Interim Superintendent since July 2021.
Previously, Burkhardt has served as the principal of the Maine-Endwell School District since 2012. He has worked in education for 22 years and holds a master’s degree in K-12 literacy, a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and has certifications in educational administration.
District Board President Amy O’Brien said Burkhardt will help move the school district in the right direction.
“Mr. Burkhardt possesses a passion for student achievement and success on both an academic andpersonal level, as well as proven leadership skills that will be critical to guiding our district through theyears ahead,” O’Brien said.
His first day as the district’s superintendent was Nov. 1.
