Doliver wins race to become new Norwich mayor
NORWICH, N.Y. (WBNG) -- In a night of wins for the republican party in Broome County, republicans also performed well in Chenango County. Late Tuesday night, another republican was voted into office.
Brian J. Doliver will become the next mayor of Norwich, based on results posted on the Chenango County Board of Election’s website.
Doliver’s unofficial tally stands at 907 votes, compared to John Quattrocchi’s 313 vote total. With all precincts reporting, Doliver won with 74-percent of the total vote.
Quattrocchi conceded the race shortly after the polls closed. Early results showed Doliver with a substantial lead.
Regarding his win, Doliver said it took a team.
“This was not just one person doing this,” Doliver told 12 News. “This was a number of people. a number of people on the council that gave me a lot of support. Friends and family, my mom, my dad, my sisters, and my wife Valerie.”
