(WBNG) -- A former Broome County drug dealer has agreed to a plea deal that will end his lengthy court case.

Richard Gaworecki pleaded guilty in Broome County Court Monday to attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class C felony. Gaworecki will receive a three-year conditional discharge.

Gaworecki sold heroin to a man who overdosed a few days later in 2017.

His case made it all the way to the New York Court of Appeals before it concluded Monday.
