Ross Park Zoo ‘Doing their part to stop hunger in Broome County’ through Food Drive
BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- If you are looking to take a trip to the Ross Park Zoo the weekend of Nov. 13th and 14, there’s a chance you could get a discount off your admission.
The zoo is offering an incentive through food donations to CHOW, a non-profit in the area supporting food shelters throughout the Southern Tier.
Associate Manager of Visitors and Member Services Daniel Laskaris says this is something they have been involved with for years. Laskaris says it’s about giving back to the community.
“Humans are just as important as the animals here at the zoo without the community’s support we wouldn’t be where we are today, and we’re trying to do our part to stop hunger in Broome County it’s a very important issue here in our community and anything we can do to help, we’re happy to do so,” he told 12 News
To get a dollar off your admission to the Zoo, bring a non-perishable item with you to donate. For more information on CHOW and the Zoo, you can visit these links.
