CICERO, N.Y. (WBNG) - Tioga is headed back to the New York State Championship for the first time since 2015 after beating Oakfield-Alabama/Elba in the Class D semifinals.

Senior running back Emmett Wood scored four times, three in the second quarter, to propel the Tigers to the Carrier Dome. Tioga’s defense kept a usually explosive Aggie offense to just six points.

After a scoreless first quarter, Tioga really picked up their production on both sides of the ball. Emmett Wood scored the first touchdown a minute in, and the defense forced two straight 3-and-outs on the other side, allowing Wood to punch in two more to take a 21-0 lead at the halftime break.

Tioga will play Moriah for the state title on Friday, December 3 at 12 pm in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
