Owego’s Lights on the River is back after two years
OWEGO (WBNG) -- After two years of the festival not happening, Lights on the River in Owego is making its return Friday night.
This event is a busy night for the small businesses and restaurants in downtown Owego. Lighting of the holiday lights will be at 6 p.m., and there will be Christmas Carols at the Court House from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. by Owego Free Academy’s musicians and chorale group.
From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. a movie will be projected on Tioga State Bank wall on Lake Street, and starting at 6 p.m. the Purple Lighting Band from Candor will be starting on Lake Street and marching toward Front Street.
From 6 to 8 p.m. Magician Doug Welch and Juggler Nate the Great will be doing street shows, and from 7 to 8 p.m. Will Stafford will be juggling around.
The fireworks display over the bridge will be at 8 p.m. Owego Rotary will have hot mulled cider and Owego Kiwanians will have hot cocoa and donuts by the Barleycorn. Portable restrooms will be located in the M&T Parking Lot at 195 Front Street.
