SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WBNG) - After no state championship was played in the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chenango Forks Blue Devils are the champions once again in 2021, beating Schuylerville 21-0 in the Class C title game.

Senior running back Dubbs Haqq led the way for Forks, rushing for two touchdowns in the victory. Fellow senior Zander Arnold added a touchdown of his own. Haqq finished with 133 rushing yards and Arnold added 107 as the Blue Devils’ dominant run game was the driving force behind the victory.

The Chenango Forks defense held strong against a Schuylerville offense that averaged 39 points per game up to this point, keeping the Horses off the scoreboard completely; good for Forks’ fifth shutout of the season.

This is the Blue Devils’ seventh state championship in football, adding to the one they won in 2019, also over Schuylerville.
