VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) - The visiting Marist Red Foxes shot 61 percent in the second half to pull away from Binghamton men’s basketball to hand them their sixth loss of the season Wednesday night.

The Red Foxes tore off a 14-3 run to take a 43-32 lead midway through the second half. Over the game’s final quarter, the Bearcats couldn’t come closer than seven points.

Junior center Ogheneyole Akuwovo led the Bearcats with 10 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks. Junior forward Christian Hinckson narrowly missed his own double-double with 10 points and nine boards.

The Bearcats led 19-12 more than 12 minutes into the game before both offenses slowed. The teams combined for just 17 points over the final eight minutes of the half to end the first tied 24-24. Marist scored 34 points in the paint to pull away in the end.

Binghamton continues its five-game homestand by hosting Oneonta on Saturday at 2 PM.
