BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- United Way of Broome County and Binghamton University Philanthropy Incubator partnered with the Greater Good Grocery in Binghamton to match SNAP purchases and increase food access.

Beginning on Jan. 5, funding will be used to match SNAP purchases with vouchers that can be used to purchase any SNAP-eligible products at Greater Good Grocery.

This program will run in addition to the Field and Fork Double Up Food Bucks program which began on Dec. 1, 2021.

This will match the value of SNAP dollars spent on locally grown fruits and vegetables.

According to the Broome County Council of Churches, the program will run until all funding is used, providing thousands of additional healthy meals to families within the community.

The Greater Good Grocery’s mission is to expand healthy food access to anyone on Binghamton’s North Side.
