Buffalo Bills fans ready for Saturday showdown with New England
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WBNG) - The game against the New England Patriots may be more than 24 hours away, but Bills fans from all across the Northeast are already making the trip to Orchard Park to party and prepare for Buffalo’s second-straight playoff home opener.
“We’re different. It’s just different,” said Tom Coyle, a Buffalo fan that drove from New Jersey to be at the game. “You’re gonna see stuff [at a tailgate] that you’ll never see anywhere else.”
“Whether the temperature is 30 degrees, or it’s negative-eight like they say it’ll be, tomorrow at game time you’ll see 70,000 people in this whole area before the game,” said Darlene Zlotek, a Bills fan and worker at Danny’s, a sports bar less than a mile from Highmark Stadium.
And if fans weren’t at bars prepping for Saturday’s game, they were already tailgating. Plenty of campers and RVs filled the lot to the stadium’s north, with plenty of fans ready to party.
“There’s a big spread going on. We got karaoke. We got barbecue. We play some games,” said Michelle Widdowson, a longtime Bills fan from Buffalo. “We pretty much keep it going all night, all the way through tomorrow and until the day after the game.”
And, of course, these Bills fans are hoping to see their team come out on top against their division rivals.
“We’ll play them on the moon, we’ll play them on the sun, it doesn’t matter,” said Coyle. “We are going to win tomorrow.’”
