Governor Hochul signs new redistricting maps into law
Binghamton (WBNG) -- New York’s newly proposed State Assembly and Senate maps were signed into law by Governor Hochul Thursday night.
Both chambers of the State Legislature voted to approve both sets of maps earlier Thursday, largely along party lines.
Because Democrats control supermajorities in both branches, they were able to pass the maps without needing Republican support.
The state hasn’t published the official maps yet.
