BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) - The Akron RubberDucks hit a home run on the first pitch of the game and didn’t look back, beating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 5-2.

Bo Naylor hit the solo home run to begin the game for Akron. Then, George Valera scored off a wild pitch to give the RubberDucks a 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning.

Binghamton got on the board in the second when Ronny Mauricio hit a solo home run to cut Akron’s lead to 2-1.

In the fifth, Akron responded as Will Brennan hit a two RBI double to extend their lead to 4-1. The Rumble Ponies tried to get a rally going in the bottom half of the inning, but could only manage one run off a Francisco Alvarez sacrifice fly.
