Rumble Ponies put up season-high in runs and hits, beat Somerset Patriots 13-2

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies matched their season-high of 17 hits as they beat the Somerset Patriots 13-2 in a special Monday Memorial Day matchup.

Binghamton got the scoring started right away when they plated four runs in the bottom of the first. Luke Ritter, Carlos Cortes and Hayden Senger all had RBIs.

In the next inning, the Patriots got a run off an error by Francisco Alvarez.

Then in the third, the Rumble Ponies continued to score as Senger, Manny Rodriguez, and Jeremy Vasquez all drove in runs to make it an 8-1 ballgame. The next inning, Binghamton scored three more to extend their lead to double digits before ending with runs in the seventh and eighth.

The Rumble Ponies will be back in action when they host the Patriots on Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m.
