Rumble Ponies rally late on Father’s Day to beat Baysox 8-4

BOWIE, M.D. (WBNG) - Francisco Alvarez hit a go-ahead three-run homer in sixth to send the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to an 8-4 victory over the Bowie Baysox on Father’s Day at Prince George’s Stadium.
Binghamton entered the sixth down 1-0, until Alvarez smashed a three-run home run to put Binghamton ahead 3-1. The Ponies then extended their lead in the eighth as Brandon Mcllwain hit a three-run homer. Wyatt Young then added a two RBI single later in the inning to make it 8-1.
Mets catcher James McCann played in his third game with Binghamton on a rehab assignment and was 2-4 with a run scored.
Binghamton will be back in action on Tuesday when they begin a six-game home series against Reading Fightin Phils with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. at Mirabito Stadium.
