Family & Children’s Counseling Services unveils $5M facility expansion
After years in the making, Family and Children’s Counseling Services unveiled it’s plans for an new multi-million dollar facility expansion project.
BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- After years in the making, Family and Children’s Counseling Services unveiled it’s plans for an new multi-million dollar facility expansion project.
The new building will be constructed in the lot next to and connected to the agency’s current facility on Main Street in Binghamton with a parking lot directly across the street.
The new building will be client-centered, and include more waiting rooms, an enhanced h-v-a-c air filtration center, and new i-t infrastructure.
Family and Children’s counseling Services CEO Lisa Hoeschele said the facility will improve and expand available services across the community.
“It’s going to allow us to grow our programming and to add additional services; Ptentially primary care because a lot of folks really trust us for all of their healthcare needs and we’d like to be able to do that. So, it offers us a place to grow programming.”
Family and Children’s Counseling Services has secured approximately $4 million for the project from the NYS Department of Health, and an additional $600,000 from a New York State assembly grant, ARPA funding from Broome County, and the City of Binghamton.
Construction is expected to begin in the fall.
