Rumble Ponies shut out Reading, win 2-0 on Pride Night

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) - On the team’s first-ever Pride Night, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies shut out the Reading Fightin’ Phils and won 2-0 for their second straight win.

The first scoring came in the fourth inning when Ponies shortstop Ronny Mauricio launched a solo home run. It was his 12th homer of the season.

Then, in the sixth, Brett Baty walked and was then driven home by Carlos Cortes who hit an RBI double into the gap in right center field.

On the mound, Justin Lasko picked up his second win of the season as he pitched six scoreless innings allowing only four hits and striking out two.

Binghamton continues their series with Reading on Saturday night at Mirabito Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
