HARTFORD, C.T. (WBNG) - Brett Baty belted a three-run homer as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies cruised past the Hartford Yard Goats 11-3.

The scoring began in the third inning when Zach Ashford put the Ponies on the board with a two-run shot. Then, in the bottom of the inning Hartford responded with a Jimmy Herron solo home run.

In the fourth, Baty, Ashford, and Brandon McIlwain all drove in runs as Binghamton took a commanding 7-1 lead. Again, the Yard Goats responded in the bottom of the inning, but could only get one run off a Kyle Datres double.

In the fifth, the Ponies extended their lead with a Hayden Senger home run and another RBI from Ashford.

The two teams then put up one more run each. Hartford off a Brenton Doyle homer in the sixth and Binghamton with a Jeremy Vasquez RBI single in the seventh.

Jose Butto picked up the win on the mound for the Rumble Ponies to improve to 5-5 on the year.

Next up, Binghamton wraps up their series in Hartford on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.
