VESTAL (WBNG) -- In one month, Binghamton University students will be returning to campus for the Fall semester, but there’s still work to be done.

With new and returning students begin moving in on campus Aug. 18.

Since graduation, crews have been doing major cleaning and repairs, including preparations to open a new student dorm building.

Meanwhile, there’s a major need to fill tons of vacancies, and the campus is hosting a nob fair to reach possible employers.

“The university has always been a very attractive place for the area, but now everything else is becoming more competitive to us,” said Director of Operations Michael Kukawa. “So, we have to be more active. We can’t be as passive waiting for people to come to us. In years past, we would have hundreds and hundreds of applicants for positions. Now we’re seeing that everyone around the area, because of a bunch of reasons like the job market becoming more competitive, that we need to become more active in terms of recruiting.”

The job fair will be Wednesday, Jul. 20 at the Baseball Statium Complex on campus from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M.

Physical facilities and entry-level clerical positions are available.

Attendees should bring resumes or applications to the event.
