Union-Endicott Little League prepares to host New York State 8-10U Little League Championship
Broome County is preparing to host little league teams from across the Empire State.
ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Broome County is preparing to host little league teams from across the Empire State.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, the Union-Endicott community is hosting the New York State 8-10U Little League Championship at Logan Field.
A grant from Broome County is helping with costs for the tournament, including some maintenance and upgrades to the field, fencing, concession stand, new equipment and more.
Visit Binghamton Director Judi Hess said the week-long championship will also benefit the county.
“Events like this that bring people into the area are so vital,” Hess said. “Tourism is a big economic tool for the county, not only by having people come in, stay overnight, eat in our restaurants and go to baseball games, but also just to expose them to the community we have here.”
The community grant will also help make upgrades for the next four years as Union-Endicott hosts the tournament.
