ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- The cider is cold and the donuts are hot; The Cider Mill in Endicott has opened for the season.
“It‘s opening day where Fall officially begins for Broome County,” said Assistant Manager Brent Natzle. “The Cider Mill is open and we’re here with cider, donuts and candy apples.”
All which have been staples of the Endicott Cider Mill for the past eight decades.
“I believe it’s the 80th season for The Cider Mill this year,” Natzle said. “Which is a milestone that we’ve been here for that long. So, it’s amazing that we’re here with all the small businesses not doing good, it’s great to open every year and continue to be a part of Broome County.”
Alongside the Cider Mill’s staples of donuts, candy apples, cider and cider slushies, there’s more to come as the Fall begins, including pumpkins, mums and fresh apples.
“It’s a family place,” said Natzle. “We’re here for people to come and see the product be made. That’s one of the things missing in a lot of area businesses; You can’t see your food be produced in front of you. Here you can watch the cider be pressed and you can see the donuts be made right in front of you. That’s a big part of it.”
Now, staff are preparing for a busy season.
“We thank you guys for supporting us. We are a small business and without all of you guys, we wouldn’t be here each and every year. So, once again, we thank everybody in the community for supporting us,” Natzle said.
The Cider Mill is open Monday through Friday from 7 A.M. until 6 P.M. and closes for the season on Dec. 1.
