VESTAL (WBNG) - Dance Intentions has made its way to Vestal, which is located along Vestal Parkway East. The new local business offers tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, conditioning, private lessons, and more.

Erin Wilcox and Ravin Van Gelder, the co-owners and artistic directors, have known each other for years within the dance community and decided to take this adventure together.

12 News asked the owners if inflation is affecting enrollment at all or if locals are willing to use their money for these types of extra-curricular activities. “I think it’s a little bit of a mix of both,” said Erin. “People are definitely hesitant, but with everything lifting and vaccinations, people definitely feel safer and more willing to start doing things again.”

In general, when it comes to dance as an outlet, the co-owners went over some of the health benefits. They said it benefits folks mentally, physically, and emotionally. Ravin went over some of the specifics. “For the younger ones, they get to interact with new people maybe before they even get to go to school,” she said. “So they get to make some connections there. For older kids and for younger kids, it’s really good for mental health just being able to express yourself.”

The duo prides themselves with being not just the owners, but the instructors as well.
