Brett Baty promoted to Triple-A Syracuse; Jose Butto also called up
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) - The New York Mets have promoted third baseman Brett Baty to Triple-A Syracuse.
Baty is ranked as the number two prospect in the Mets organization. In 89 games for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies this season, Baty hit for a .312 average with 19 home runs and 59 RBI. In July, Baty was named the Player of the Month for the Eastern League.
He leaves Binghamton as the hits leader in the Eastern League with 106 this season while also ranking in the top ten in doubles, RBIs, and home runs. Baty made his debut in Binghamton on July 14, 2021.
Also getting the call up to Syracuse, is pitcher Jose Butto who is ranked as the 12th prospect in the Mets farm system. This season he is 6-5 with a 4.00 ERA in 20 games.
