Broome County campsite becomes official Jellystone Park location
Yogi Bear can now be seen wandering around Jellystone’s newest park location.
ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Yogi Bear can now be seen wandering around Jellystone’s newest park location.
“It kind of brings our campground to the next level of activities, things that we do and the things that we offer here,” said Binghamton Jellystone Park Vice President Alexis Stabler.
Stabler said the park’s new licensing means new changes.
“It’s a pretty popular franchise throughout the country,” she said. “So, we had explored different campground options when we purchased this campground and when we saw the Jellystone brand we just absolutely fell in love with it and we knew it was the right fit for us.”
To fit new new Jellystone franchise, there’s been major additions to the park, including a floating obstacle course, kayaks, jumping pillows, dart wars, hill slides, multiple “glamping” opportunities and more.
“Jellystone offered a ton of support for us in the transition and they offered a ton of different options of activities and fun stuff to do. So, they did offer a lot of support in that area,” said Stabler.
The biggest attraction though; Yogi Bear meet-and-greets.
With more than 75 locations across the U.S. and Canada, the campground is one of nine located in New York State, and Stabler said this addition was needed in Broome County.
“I think it’s a great change to the community,” she said. “I think that we’ve been really well-received in our first season. We’ve been super busy already, we’ve gotten great reviews, and everyone seems to love it. I think the area needs more things to do and we’re super happy to offer that.”
The campground was officially named a Jellystone Park on Friday, Aug. 5, and is located at 600 Boswell Hill Road in Endicott.
