(WBNG) - The Dicks Sporting Goods Open is set to tee off on Friday and among the over 70 golfers who will be competing, there is a clear list of favorites.

Coming into this tournament, Steven Alker is the man to beat as he’s currently ranked as the number one golfer on the Champions Tour right now. Through the season’s first 14 events, he’s finished in the top three eight times.

Behind him is Miguel Angel Jimenez who comes into this weekend with some momentum after winning last week’s Champions Tour event in Washington. Last year, he came in third at the DSGO.

Then the third ranked golfer on the tour, Padraig Harrington, had a rough tournament in Washington. However, when it comes to winning in golf, Harrington knows it’s just about keeping yourself in the mix.

“I look after myself. If I do that, I know I’ll get myself in a position come the last nine holes on Sunday where I’ll have a chance. You never know with those nine holes to go,” said Harrington. “Sometimes it goes horribly wrong. Sometimes you make a big charge for those last nine holes, but the key is to be in position that if the putts drop with the last nine holes that you’re close enough that it does make a difference.”

Rounding out the top ten is David Toms, Ernie Els, Doug Barron, Thongchai Jaidee, Bill Andrade, Bernhard Langer, and Duffy Waldorf.
