Johnson City Central School District to help students go back to school in style
JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) - Back-to-school time can be costly for families with having to purchase school supplies, clothes, haircuts, and more. However, parents with students in Johnson City Central School District are getting some relief this fall.
On September 6, Quentin Pappadakis has arranged for a local barber, Bespoke Barbers, to offer district students free haircuts to head back into the classroom with confidence. “The power of a haircut helps students feel better about themselves, help them have a little courage, strength, and be able to talk to others,” said Academic Counselor for Liberty Partnership and Coordinator Quentin Pappadakis.
Pappadakis, the organizer, said this back-to-school offer is only for students of the school district. Bespoke Barbers may also be joined by other locations.
Pappadakis said no JC students will be excluded from the offer. “Young men and women can come and, you know, get their hair done,” he said. “We want to help others in the community. That’s a big thing for me.”
The service will be offered September 6 in the middle school’s main lobby from noon until 2 p.m. and no registration is required.
