PA man starts homeless care pack project, NY & PA will benefit
NEW MILFORD (WBNG) - Homelessness occurs everywhere, and because of this, Carpe Noctem started to invest time in the Homeless Care Pack project this summer. “And it hurts,” said Noctem. “I’ve been in that situation myself before. Fortunately, I found a shelter for a few weeks until I got back on my feet. I’m trying to return the favor and pay some good forward.”
The care packages are for homeless veterans and residents of both New York and Pennsylvania. “We have a female bag and we have a male bag,” said Noctem. “We want to make sure that we had something solely created for them for feminine hygiene products.”
In both bags, expect a range of products to help with overall hygiene needs, warmth, medicine, food products, and more. “We are going to be working with New York State Police and I’m trying to get a hold of the local military barracks out here to help us with distribution,” he said. “We also have a group called FSB Initiative in Luzerne County. They do the same kind of product down there for homeless veterans so they’re going to be partnering up with me to help with our distribution once we get everything all packed up.”
With this effort, Noctem said transparency is of paramount importance. “We have a debit card created solely for that event... Go out and buy all the products this way everybody can see all the receipts,” he said.
