Binghamton, Cornell draw in women’s soccer match Wednesday night
VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) - Binghamton women’s soccer followed up their win against FDU last week with a 1-1 draw with visiting Cornell Wednesday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Binghamton drew a foul when freshman Lauren Clark took a pass from Maya Anand down the left side before drawing the foul just outside the box. Senior midfielder Victoria McKnight struck a low free kick that Cornell keeper Nicole Shulman blocked but couldn’t contain. Maya Anand swooped in and hit home her fourth goal of the season.
The BU goal came just 1:44 after Cornell had taken the lead. The Big Red converted a set piece of their own: a header from Laken Gallman off a free kick just outside the left side of the box to take a 1-0 lead.
