Binghamton Rumble Ponies drop season finale to Hartford Yard Goats 8-4

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) - On Sunday afternoon the Binghamton Rumble Ponies finished out their 2022 season with an 8-4 loss to the Hartford Yard Goats.

Binghamton started the game with several runs early. In the first, Luke Ritter hit an RBI double that scored Ronny Mauricio. Then in the second, Nic Gaddis and Carlos Cortes both drove in runs as the Rumble Ponies took a 4-0 lead.

But then the Yard Goats began their comeback. Hartford scored three runs in the third off a wild pitch, and sacrifice flies from Daniel Montano and Brenton Doyle.

Hartford then tied it up with a solo home run from Aaron Schunk in the fourth before taking the lead off solo homers from Montano and Doyle in the fifth.

The Yard Goats then wrapped up the scoring with two more runs in the ninth to make it an 8-4 final.

With this loss, the Rumble Ponies wrap up their season with a 53-83 overall record as they finished last in the Eastern League Northeast Division in both the first and second half.
